His dad passed away when he was a young boy. His mom, Marsha has raised him to be a good responsible young man. He came to us at 13 years old to train to be a Singer- Songwriter- Performer. Adam was given a guitar by donations. We gave top music instructors in guitar, vocals, songwriting, recording studio training, and many, many personal stage performances to communicate with our audiences. After Adam completed Ventura College in business administration, he and mom moved to Nashville, songwriting capital of the world to pursue his dreams & goals. Adam is a bright shining STAR.
At 18 years old, one of our board members discovered Miranda while riding on the bus, on the way to a Ventura College class. On her interview with Music And Art For Youth, she explained her dream to be a singer. She brought us a lovely poem that we helped arrange with music, and she produced her first original song, "Crooked Smile". Miranda performed music at our shows for about two years. In her life, she has won singing competitions, and volunteered in her church band, plus performed many times at the local Ventura Farmers Market Show on Saturdays. Our program gave Miranda the confidence and inspiration that she needed with her music. After a few years now, she is married, and she sings to her baby boy, her wonderful son, Jackson.
She came to us at 12 years old. She showed up with her mom, Stephanie and dozens of drawings and sketched art in her portfolio. We loved her. When she began our art program, Lucy was given an array of acrylic paints, supplies, easel, brush kits, and blank framed canvas to produce her art. Within six weeks, she was shown art preparation, framing, & mounting for her first exclusive art exhibit at Our Christmas Day Show on Main Street. Lucy sold eleven of her 14 artworks at this holiday event. As time went on Lucy produced more and more art. She was a success in our MAAFY visual arts program. We trained Lucy with a video camera to conduct art interviews & short movies. Music And Art For Youth wrote a recommendation letter to have her own artist loft at The WAV (Working Artist Ventura). Her mom's resident application was submitted to the screening panel and management. Lucy Jane made history in Ventura, as the first WAV kid artist to be accepted, based solely on the quality & potential future, as a professional artist.
He was nominated by his public school teacher with a highly regarded recommendation. He was not doing well with math & English at his school. But we loved this kid when he showed up with a casual portfolio of sketched art on plain paper. He entered our program at 13 years old, very humble & meek. We supplied three private adult artist instructors for an accelerated art education. This Visual Art Scholarship Student, Antonio Barrera created many masterpieces like one called, "Underwater Shark", an acryllc painting on framed canvas. He entered our low- income award program, with a dream for being a professional artist someday. He has learned to speak well about his artworks to audiences at our Concert Art Shows. Antonio is the youngest child in his family, and has a loving home in the City of Oxnard. His Daddy passed away four years into our program. Our Board Members greatly encouraged him to continue to pursue his wonderful gift of painting artworks.
Introducing this 14 year old student at our SECRET GARDEN CLASSICAL GUITAR AWARD EVENT & Art Exhibit. He was presented with a professional Classical Cordoba C7 guitar at this show. It was inspiring to see his hopes & dreams come true on this day. In this classical guitar duo performance, was Aniket's guest musician, Juanita Wooten. Many alumni of the classical students are now professionals performing throughout California & the USA. This kid's humility & respect for life has shown much potential in the years ahead.
